WordPress; Add an Image fails
This week I had some problems with one of my blogs….
Something to do with a plugin not working well with that theme….; I was able to fix that one.
BUT; my search for that answer also caused another problem…. All of a sudden I was not able to upload a picture into a post…..
I was able to push the “add an image” button – it would let me upload the picture – I was able to change the settings in the control panel of the picture (the aligning – change size etc) – but at the moment I would hit the “insert into post” button – that control panel screen would turn white and stay white….
So – it would not insert the picture into the post, BUT it would upload it into the correct folder…..
I had a huge search on this one…
But what did happen..??
As I was working on the solution for the other problem; I had changed the WordPress address URL in the General Settings Screen….. I only changed it a bit….!!
I used a capital letter in the URL !!!
For example; in stead of http://onmycomp.com I had http://Onmycomp.com. And that one little change did ruin it all !!!
So; if you have the same problem with “not being able to upload a picture into a post”….. check the spelling of your URL in your General Settings Screen of WordPress; no capitalization is allowed !!

I had a similar problem with WordPress. When I switched to permalinks, I left a space after my permalink structure which caused the comments to go to a 404 after being entered.
Had something similar at the very start of my blog. “Fixed” by writing posts in Windows Live Writer since.
@sOuThp4rk – seems like WordPress is a picky little bugger uh..??
@Rarst – that would not have given me a solution; as I am not able to use Live Writer on every blog I have…. something wrong within the PHP5 on the server…; http://josephscott.org/archives/2008/12/problems-with-libxml2-for-wordpress-xml-rpc-users/
No solution yet….
I had a similar problem. Previewing a post will not work if you had the wrong URL.
