Windows 7; free download for all (beta)
During the keynote of Steve Ballmer (CEO Microsoft) @ at the CES 2009 (uh… kind of computer technology fair) the new Windows 7 was showed. All the new features…., the new looks,….faster startup,….. faster closing,……updated taskbar,……and it will be able to run on a laptop with 1GHZ processor and 1gb RAM…!
And a nice part of the keynote (quoted from Blog.wired.com) “According to Ballmer, Windows 7 will be available to developers immediately, and to the general public on Friday, January 9. It will be a free download from Microsoft’s site.”

Downloads; 32 bit ——— 64 bit (pls remember – these are BETA and will not work for unlimited time….rumors are 3×30days)

Wow. A beta of a Windows operating system?
Uh, I think I’ll pass.
I will try this and check this out after installing it this weekend.
Thanks for the update.
It’s not up for downloading yet, the Microsoft website says it will be available in the afternoon of Jan 9, I guess when it’s afternoon in North-America.
I will definitely try it on an old computer, like a 1 GHz/1Gb model as mentioned, just to see if it runs fairly quick…
Microsoft is trying too hard. I guess they owe it to us after that abomination ……….Vista
@ Hawg – I can imagine the “fear” of using a beta of an operating system (beta). Who knows what problems it could give uh…??
@ Ninar – pls let me know what you think of it !!
@ Rudy – they really had some problems = all servers down etc…. seems that Windows is not really ready for heavy traffic uh..??
@ Naysh – ooooh absolutely. Although I think that the worst enemy of the Vista was the bad press…. (and some drivers…lol)
