TVersity; watch movies/create radiochannels

TVersityWatch movies and create radiochannels….?
What is new or special about that…?

But maybe you want to watch movies from your Xbox on your tv…? Yes; I know = the Xbox360 is capable of doing that. BUT only certain kind of codec files! AND not with subtitles! AND there is a limit on HD you have on your Xbox360 !
I will just tell you how I have my set up – and you can just decide if it would work for you or not.

Upstairs – I have my main computer. It has more than 500gb Harddisk. On there; I have about 40 movies and several tv-series (for example the whole Sorpranos collection). I have TVersity installed on this computer. Which I also have setup to use subtitles via VobSub. It is included within the whole TVersity installation. Including playing of MKV files – DVDs etc. Also some channels of YouTube are added to it.
Furthermore I have about 3.000 MPs on this computer and I added some playlist – some are just radiochannels; for example RadioBrussel (a real nice Belgium music channel – which is not available on my satellite and isn’t a free air channel (as Belgium is too far away).
This computer is connected to my home network.
AND to this network I did also connect my Xbox360!

Via my Xbox360 I am able to watch all my Sorpranos – all my movies (with subtitles) – listen to all my MP3s and radiostations.

It also works with the Playstation3, the Wii, Apple Iphone, etc etc etc
And they are still developing; like adding channels to the TVersity setup; just like RSS feeds = which make you able to watch all kinds of tvseries, newschannels LIVE STREAMED FROM YOUR COMPUTER TO YOUR XBOX, PS3, Wii, ETC ETC ETC.

Website; TVersity (incl.download)

  1. I use this on my Windows Home Server to stream to XBOX 360 and it works great! Best realtime transcoder I have used on XBOX yet.

  2. Never heard of such a thing. It works with the Wii? Wow. I had something similar a long time ago with a modified Xbox. I had to drop the files in a certain folder that was shared over the local area network… I’m really getting behind on things. :) I’m used to the old difficult methods I guess.

  3. Yep – technology is going fast….. !! ;)
More and more they can put in a little (Wii/X) box.
