Options + Good&Evil; my WordPress theme
I have to say; this was a long search to find a nice looking WordPress theme for this site. I went through hundreds of themes…. after about 100 theme I realized I was searching for a “Magazine style”…. And a “professional” looking one. On my homecomputer I have setup a possibility to try themes – without putting them at the my server…..
After that long search I got to the homepage of ThemeHybrid.com – real good looking themes. And a lot of good explanations about how the themes work etc. The theme I choose is the mother theme “Options” with the child theme “Good&Evil“.
The mother theme is only giving the information about how the theme style is – where are the columns going – how to place the different posts/featured post/pictures/videos. And the child theme is giving the colors to it.
In combination with the real good explanations about the available settings (in the WordPress menu); I made the page like it is now. You even can get a membership – which gives you more tutorials and the ability to post questions in the forum.
Is this an all perfect theme…?? Well; it really looks nice – sometimes a bit to much options. But one real problem I have is; I am not able to make a post via an external program like “Scribefire” or “Blogdesk” or “Live Writer”; it will put a lot of the html in the real post…… and it will not show a picture (although it DOES put it into the right folder). BUT; I really love the looks and the options – and hopefully with the next update (which is already available for the WordPress 2.7+ beta daredevils) this problem will be solved.
