As I told you; I did a complete new installation On My Comp.
Couple of days ago I installed the Vista 64-bit operating system…. and I just wanted to give you a list of all the programs I did use and installed on this system.

I started with back up all the files I thought I should keep. Saved them in a special folder on the extra hard disk.

BUT; then all the email settings…. and my bookmarks and plugins of Firefox.
I made a back up of my Thunderbird profile AND my Firefox profile with MozBackup(1). So; all my email settings where saved – all my emails – all my bookmarks and all my plug-ins.

Then the fast and easy installation of Vista 64-bit.

Continued with Firefox as my browser and Thunderbird as my email program.
MozBackup(1) to put all the profiles back… everything was fixed within a couple of minutes.

Then my virusscanner; the debacle of AVG(2) made me installing “avast!”.

Then time for my spreadsheets and text documents; OpenOffice.org (3) (all the functions of the Windows Office – but then free… )

To make sure that I could watch my movies via my Xbox; TVersity(4) and this time I included the K-lite codec pack together with the MediaPlayer Classic(5).
The K-lite I have been using before until one sad point…..and none of the videos would play anymore.
Rarst did suggest this one in one of his comments – so decided to give it a try (again) = works perfect !!!
Why TVersity; it makes me able to watch videos and listen to mp3 and musicstream on my entertainment system in another room; via the Xbox.

Next; I got Vuze (old Azareus) for my tv-series download.

Then 2 more programs for my quick searches and able to go quickly to my folders; Launchy (6) and DirectFolders (7).

I did a fast setup of my FileZilla (8) – on the previous setup I did save the settings…. So – am able to make easy uploads to my server.

And for my posting to WordPress; FastStone Capture (9)- for the nice printscreens !!

DONE !!! A nice working PC !
