Entrecard; changes to the new rules

entrecardAs you probably know; one of the “ad systems” I am using is Entrecard. Just see my post about the Entrecard Widget.

Last week the members of Entrecard received a message from Entrecard with a big announcement.
They announced a “Third Party Ad Network”.

Very short; they will run (beside the old fashioned EC ad) also real ads. And you can even earn money with this = yep – real short uh..??

BUT; they had some rules which made big worries at the Entrecard user.
Well; a couple of those rules already did change;

  • “Above the fold rule” – which was demanding to place your ad on a place where people could see it RIGHT at the first view = so on the top part of your blog.
    This one has been changed into “One page down rule” – so one hit on the page down button should give the Entrecard ad. (counting with a 1920*1200 screen)
  • To NOT run those ads on your page – you have to pay a fee; nope – not anymore = there will be NO fee if you decide to NOT accept third party ads !

As Entrecard users did not get an email update about these changes – I just wanted to share them with you.

  1. Really enjoy all of the timely and informative tips found on your site. Any ideas on what I can do to help my own site? Your advice will go a long way.

  2. Only advice I could give;
    - do not take your selves more serious than others do..
    - update regularly (for example this site has Monday-Wednesday-Friday posts)
    - entrecard is a nice starter
