De-friend; don’t feel offended – it’s the Hype

delete-friendAccording to the trendwatchers; the new hype is going to be…… de-friending..!!
Delete friends from the huge social lists….
People get tired of watching and following all the facebooks/hyves/tweets/etc…. And will delete some friends – uh… well; people they seem to know !!

The Burger King even stepped into this new hype; they where offering free burgers to people who where deleting friends from their Facebook account.

At the moment you see “less friends” – they are not trying to offend you. They are just following the new hype.

Probably people are just getting more and more worried about their privacy….. or are just wondering why they would give all kinds of information about their lifes to (sometimes) complete strangers.

Did you start de-friending/defriending/unfriending…??

  1. I only ‘defriend’ if someone does something offensive, like messaging me out of the blue with no previous contact and trying to get me to get naked on webcam or something. (There’ve been a few of those.) I don’t worry about the ‘lurkers’ if they don’t do anything to bother me. Sometimes, they eventually start talking and we actually end up being good friends. I notice one or two dropping off my friend list here and there. Sometimes I scroll through to see if I can spot who it might have been. Usually, I can’t tell at all, so I figure, it’s no real loss.

  2. If you don’t “friend” then there is no need to “de-friend”… ;)
