Audacity; audio editor and recorder

audacityAs I am also using one of my computers to make music – you can imagine there is also a lot of music programs on that computer.
BUT – I am trying to only tell you about all the free stuff I am running. That is why I am not really mentioning any music programs….

Till today; time for Audacity…!

Also handy for “using at home”…..
First – what is Audacity capable of…??
- recording = from a microphone – line input (like cd players) etc.
- importing and exporting to all kinds of different formats of audio files
- editing of the files = like cutting little parts – fade in/out – combine different parts of different tracks into one file
- effect = change the pitch – echo – wahwah – reverse
- etc etc

How could this one come in handy for “using at home”…??
Take a part of a sound file (maybe a movie line..?) and use it (maybe with some effects…??) on your answering machine.
As most cell phones are capable of using a mp3 as ringtone; you can make your own ringtone… take a part of a song and put that in repeat… put a little effect on it….

Why am I using it…??
To make little (real little) pieces of soundfiles – to use in remixes…. Maybe a little bass line… or a quote from a movie…

Have fun !!

  1. Hey – I just started using this in my (so-far failed) attempt at podcasting. Man, I suck at this program but you sure cannot beat the price! Anyway, I’ll stick with it – CHEERS!

  2. Hi there, well – I am not a total expert with this program; but if ya have any questions – I could always try !!
